Our Approach

Infrastructure over opinion

We measure what a hotel offers — not what guests feel about it. A hotel with a spa, concierge, and 24h reception is objectively better-equipped.

No pay-to-play

Scores are purely algorithmic. No hotel can pay for a higher rating. No advertising influences the results.

Relative to Amsterdam

Scores reflect how a hotel compares to its peers in Amsterdam. A 7 means genuinely above the local standard.

Critical by design

Unlike review platforms where most scores cluster at 8-9, our curve is centered lower. An 8+ is earned, not given.

Transparency

Not all hotels have equally complete data. Smaller or newer hotels may score lower because less information is publicly available about their amenities. We don't measure service quality, staff friendliness, or room cleanliness — only verifiable infrastructure.

Scores are recalculated periodically as new data becomes available. A hotel's score may change as the competitive landscape shifts. Last update: March 2026.
